Yesterday was utterly pleasant. You know how it feels when you're catching up with a friend? It's absolutely satisfying. My friend Liz and I went to high school together. She moved out of SD to attend Biola and during the summer months she's back here living with family.
Aside from the reminiscing and sweet company, the most rewarding part of our time spent together was talking about our Maker. We talked so much losing all awareness of time, quality. Yes, I have an amazing amount of fellowship, and sure talking about God seems so second nature, but this moment was...a rarity. A refreshing breath of air.
There are a select few people that I keep in contact with from high school. That's primarily due to the distance, but also the lifestyle changes. I'm not the same, neither are they. Maybe things are different for you, but my high school friends amount to the number of fingers on a single hand. It's even less considering who's a Christ follower. I'm okay with that.
I've been blessed knowing women of my sisterhood and men of our fellow brotherhood in this Greek ministry. Shoot, the people who read this blog are just that. I'm blessed by you. But far beyond this, I realize the fellowship our Lord has to offer runs incredibly deep.
A life spent with others, one holy priesthood.
Rad.
